It’s hard to believe that New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is already over!
I say the same thing every time NYFW ends – even though it’s only one week long it feels more like a month! Between the shows, events, meeting up with friends, and appointments at showrooms it’s non-stop!
Day one of NYFW I had the Marissa Webb show (which was one of my favorite shows) and then several other meetings. Because Marissa Webb’s designs are always feminine with a slight edge I chose a look with a similar vibe.
As I’ve said in a previous blog, rust is going to be huge for fall, and I fell in love with this ASOS pleated skirt as soon as I saw it. To give the look a bit of edge, I decided to pair it with an unexpected color and my Dylanlex necklace! For the final touch, I went for a red lip to play off the bright colors in the look!

I had previously mentioned a distaste for camisole-straps, but now I no longer adhere to that preference. Deliverance ! I think it helped that these are my two privately favourite colours ! Rust ! Blue !
It brought me back to a moment which I presently must share.
There I was, on a hill-top, in Namibia, admiring the scenery.
In front of me a wide expanse of rusty earth shimmered lightly with the soft wind’s dust.
Oh the harmony.
Far away on the horizon, I knew there should be water, but I couldn’t see it. Too far.
(where da belt? i briefly wondered).
Above a sky of deep true blue, almost too good to be true, but there it was.
Ruling the sky, the Sun forbade direct eye contact, but it’s blonde rays shone as ever magnificently,
Oh what a delightful hour on that hilltop. Even Glorious !
Unfortunately I hadn’t put enough petrol product on my forehead and got sunburnt there. It was all red. …”sun-kissed !” my girlfriend said, smiling and pointing.

I love this outfit. I like how you paired the two very different colors instead of going for a staple color, like a black or white top. It definitely worked together and was one of my favorite blogger looks from NYFW.
