White Pumps

June 22, 2016

I love nude pumps.

That statement should not surprise you as I’ve written a post specifically about my love for them and I wear nude pumps more than 50% of the time in my photos on the blog and Instagram.

I also love white pumps (and white flats). But there was no way I was naming this post “White Pumps and Flats” because it sounds awful (figuring out what to name a post is more challenging than you would think).

So, why do I love white pumps (and flats) so much?

First, they function as a neutral. You can literally wear them with anything (I’ve even worn my Nicholas Kirkwood flats with black leather pants in the winter). Second, they are fresh and unexpected. Many women are intimidated by the thought of wearing white shoes (sneakers aside). As a result, you will stand out (in a good way) when you wear them!

Finally, white shoes are a great way to brighten up your outfit for the summer. I’m definitely a New Yorker – I LOVE wearing black and darker colors, but in the summer, if I wear darker colors I always make sure to add some “lightness” elsewhere in the outfit. For this look I chose to balance out the darker color of the dress with these white pumps and this bright colored clutch!
