Lipstick Love: Urban Decay Revolution

March 10, 2014

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Or, in my case, try, try, try, try…you get the picture. I love the look of matte and semi-matte lipsticks, but as fate would have it, I have dry lips. Even if I prep my lips by exfoliating and using a primer, if the lipstick is at all drying, I am out of luck.

Over the years I have tried on countless brands of lipstick in my search for the perfect lipstick. It’s a good thing that I’m strong-willed and don’t give up easily, because if I had I would have missed out big time.

Meet your new best friend – Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick.

{Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick}

This lipstick satisfies all my criteria for the perfect lipstick: It’s non-drying, highly pigmented and has incredible staying power. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I have gone a full day without having to reapply (even after eating and drinking).

To ensure maximum staying power I always exfoliate my lips and then prime, define, and fill in my lips with the corresponding 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil (most of the 24/7 pencils share the same name as their lipstick counterpart; Urban Decay also provides a chart on their site which matches up each lipstick with a lip liner, so no guesswork is involved).

So far I have tried out the following shades: Bang, Streak, 69, and F-Bomb. Because these are bright colors I always keep the rest of my makeup natural and minimal.

Have you tried Urban Decay Revolution lipstick? What’s your favorite lipstick brand? Let me know in the comments below!
